Private Credit vs. Lawful Money indeed.

TIBURON (AP) — A Northern California couple out walking their dog on their Gold Country property stumbled across a modern-day bonanza: $10 million in rare, mint-condition gold coins buried in the shadow of an old tree.

This stands out:

Because paper money was illegal in California until the 1870s, he added, it's extremely rare to find any coins from before that of such high quality.

Here goes bozo again. (http://savingtosuitorsclub.net/showthread.php?1013-Just-A-Review&p=12139&viewfull=1#post12139)

Why do the people of Nevada vote for this federal reserve board member is beyond me. He knows dam well what the law says and I feel he uses it, but to keep all the Nevada people in the blind is treason on the people he represents.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., gave a similarly negative outlook (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX-03Sf1wDo). “The truth is (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7mRSI8yWwg)we should have tackled tax reform years ago,” he said. “It would be extremely difficult... with the obstruction that we get here from the Republicans on virtually everything.” http://www.cbsnews.com/news/house-republicans-take-aim-at-irs-tax-reform/

That's right put the obstruction blame on Republicans, Democrats, Tea Party, the dog, the weather or virtually everything, how about start blaming Harry.

LOL And now they're trading them for a check. Tsk tsk tsk Keith Alan but know this, they were allergy May Have Been Stolen From Mint?

A California couple who found a stash of buried gold coins valued at $10 million may not be so lucky after all. The coins may have been stolen from the US Mint in 1900 and thus be the property of the government, according to a published report. http://gma.yahoo.com/10m-gold-coin-hoard-found-yard-may-stolen-141317823--abc-news-personal-finance.html?vp=1

“This was someone’s private coin, created by the mint manager or someone with access to the inner workings of the Old Granite Lady (San Francisco Mint),” Trout told the newspaper. “It was likely created in revenge for the assassination of Lincoln the previous year (April 14, 1865). I don’t believe that coin ever left The Mint until the robbery. For it to show up as part of the treasure find links it directly to that inside job at the turn of the century at the San Francisco Mint.”

If the coins were stolen from the government, the couple may be entitled to a finder's fee but they may not be able to keep the stash. The Mint has not yet commented on the situation.
