The Pope Rocks: Pontiff to Release Pop Album
So, hey, here’s a thing we weren’t expecting to write today: Pope Francis, currently on a whirlwind visit to the United States, will be dropping a pop-rock(ish) music record this fall. The album, which has the very Rage Against the Machine-y title Wake Up!, will feature all kinds of sounds from prog-rock-influenced jams to Gregorian chants, according to Rolling Stone. The album has the full blessing of the Vatican, and will feature His Holiness speaking to the devout in Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. You can pre-order the 11-track album on iTunes right now. The Vatican tape (so to speak) will be released via Believe Digital on Nov. 27. Check out a track from Pope Francis’ new joint above.
