While most if not all the $700 Geiger Counters are unavailable I found a cheap build-it-yourself kit online (http://www.kitsusa.net/phpstore/html/Geiger-Kits-184-1.html). They sent it out immediately.

This morning's news (http://savingtosuitorsclub.net/dynamics/showentry.php?e=17) sounds particularly grim.
