I never cease to be wooed, always in awe; but surprise that I have not arrived is withered. I get these moments though...

It has always agitated me a little that Congress used a pronoun (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/12/411) instead of Federal Reserve notes in the sentence:

They shall be redeemed in lawful money...

So I have been writing in:

They [FRNs] shall be redeemed in lawful money on demand...

The pronoun leaves reason to doubt and it is sloppy and very uncharacteristic of Congress and attorey/legislators to put such an ambiguity (http://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/currency_12770.htm) into the US Code. Try this substitution on for size:

People who make their demand clear shall be redeemed in lawful money...

Now, where is it in the Code that redemption price shall be equivalent to 30 pieces of silver?
