also hang in mainstream churches. :-/
A 501 (c)(3) Religious Organization is a subsidiary of the 'United States'. My guess is that most the "leaders" of "mainstream churches" do not know the difference; of either the type of flag hanging in their "Church" or that their "Church" is actually disqualified as a true church by virtue of praying to the 'United States' for 'Tax Exempt' status.
The word "church" might be synonymous with the word "society". Also, the regulations allow for a flag to be bordered on three sides...

not four.

(That's not the U.S.A. flag by the way. It floats not in the wind so the hoist is to the left.)
It might be at the least worth noting that the USA-lookalike-flag heraldrically puts 7 stripes (states) in a superior position to the 50 States and in turn 50 States in a superior position to 6 stripes. Coincidentally there were seven original Confederate States (four of which were of the Original Twelve or Thirteen--Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Mississippi).
Speaking of Texas....Quote:
The Confederate States of America (CSA), commonly referred to as the Confederate States (CS) or the Confederacy, was a government set up in 1861 by seven slave states (i.e. states which permitted slavery) of the Lower South that had declared their secession from the United States following the November 1860 election of Abraham Lincoln.[4] Those seven states created a "confederacy" in February 1861 before Lincoln took office in March.

Every single one of these 'backward' flags is being displayed on the right shoulder, or right side (like the plane).

Thanks. I've covered the regulations and such. The heraldric description of the flag was not changed even if an Army officer OKs flying it backwards. Also, fringe is authorized for three borders not four. Could it be that the patch is not intended to be the "National Flag"?
Sure, which way the patch sits might be meaningless in sum.
