Everybody who wants to secede is polite enough to write a petition..

In the wake of last week's presidential election, thousands of Americans have signed petitions seeking permission for their states to peacefully secede from the United States. The petitions were filed on We the People, a government website.

States with citizens filing include Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Oddly, folks from Georgia have filed twice.

The right to petition your government is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We the People provides a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country. We created We the People because we want to hear from you. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it's sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.

All the more reason to secede. If everyone were to read this they would want to succeed in seceding. I am appalled read this and what they have done to me and my family and my friends.

Ah, Shikamaru. Over 900 posts and you still haven't lost your touch. :D I think the whole thing is cute. As if the power centers will just let the State of Texas ( one of their own creations mind you) walk away. Once the FRN collapses, well....that's another story for another day.

No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

v. Property

Any person whose property has been levied upon shall have the right to pay the amount due, together with the expenses of the proceeding, if any, to the Secretary at any time prior to the sale thereof, and upon such payment the Secretary shall restore such property to him, and all further proceedings in connection with the levy on such property shall cease from the time of such payment.

A problem arose because seven states had seceded from the Union by February 1861 and four more left in April of that year.

However, the patriotic Treasury viewed the situation as temporary and proceeded to include 34 spikes on its seal.

This measure should be supported by the governors and legislators of all the states. Every state in the Union now contributes in income taxes to the federal government more than it gets back in grants-in-aid; this is inevitable, because the cost of maintaining the huge federal machinery must come out of the taxes before the citizen can get anything.

With the abolition of income taxation the states will be better able to serve its citizens, and because the state governments are closer and more responsive to the will of the people, there is greater chance that the citizens will get their full dollar’s worth in services.

I pondered your comment for a while Shikamaru and I came to the conclusion why I favor the secretion.

Now that we are all "subjected" to it we have no say so about it. On the other hand if the seceded states [voice of the people] we were to vote on this bill and we the people did not pass the bill, the people of the seceded states would not affect them.

Same would go for many of things that come out of the private corporation(s).

Another reason: HOUSE BILL 301 and there are 15 more states just like this one.

Commerce would act in the same agreements with one another. Contracts entered into voluntarily by two parties or more with the intention of creating a legal [lawful] obligation would be binding on the seceded states from the votes from people transmitted through the voice of the governor.

Instead, we exit a period of the private banks the private individuals and private companies and a unified state banking avoiding insolvency. Printing money to pay for federal spending dilutes the value of the dollar, which causes higher prices for goods and services, whereas seceded states have a different view of this.

The Judeo-Christian tradition holds that in the field of morals all that is "good" is set down in the Ten Commandments and right from the start of every seceded states constitution starts with the Ten Commandments.

Remember the Israelite, who maintained that he was made in the image of God, sensed the indignity; he wanted none of the "yoke." Talk about a player, Rehoboam, son of Solomon came to the point and said: "Whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father did chastise you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions."

The doctrine of natural rights in the Declaration of Independence is a tradition.

In the source of these rights is God "the nature of things." Any action which disregards man’s inalienable rights disregards God. That is a good start for me.

I am tired of the whips and scorpions, I want a change of venue, and I don’t want to move to get it. We all have internet access we don’t have to leave home to vote.

All because they lost an election ….hardly…..we all lost more than that.

While I do respect your position and your very thoughtful answer, I'm claiming that many who signed those petitions were upset that their party and candidate had lost the election.
