What would Texas do in the event that the United States of America defaulted? It is a very real possibility that one day the massive U.S. debt will become so large and unsustainable that it causes a financial meltdown. Texas, and pretty much everyone else, would all of a sudden be faced with no more federal funds (which is really just Texas tax dollars given to the feds which is then given back to Texas). Yes, Texas is already a sovereign state, but what would we do if faced with complete sovereignty and no federal money?

What would Texas do? That is actually a GREAT question. It is something you might not have really thought of before because, well, government is mostly reactive and not pro-active so they wait until something is a problem and then they try to deal with it.

State Representative James White is thinking ahead. He does not want to have to wait until Texas gets cut off from the federal government to determine how Texas will manage on our own. White wants to start planning now.

Bottom line, this is a great bill and it is really thinking ahead. With the way America is going, it is a very real possibility that federal funds to Texas could be drastically limited or even cut off completely in the event of a financial collapse. Texas needs to be ready and know what to expect.

There will be no default.
They will just continue to pass more bills to keep the show rolling to allow the financial siphoning.
Bills like on April 22, 2015, the Senate Finance Committee approved a bill to fast-track the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The creditors have North America right where they want them.
Helplessly in debt.

Tell Rep. White he needs to bone up on his history and find out that there is no choice. Or be willing to expose the fraud ongoing for more than two centuries. Don't think he'll be considering the latter of these two suggestions anytime soon.

The sovereign Texas "lost" its sovereignty when it agreed in the Governor's conference to become a corporate entity in order to avoid bankruptcy. Sorry to say, but STATE OF TEXAS, just like all the rest of the STATES, is just another subdivision of the federal government.

If Rep. White really wants to do something, tell him he needs to grow a pair and confront the Powers That Be. When faced with that reality or going along to get along, I'm certain he will see the light of political expediency and choose the latter.

Texas hasn't lost anything. They may have forgotten some things. Like the law.

New states may be admitted by the Congress into this union; but no new states shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state;

Between the lines White is probably alluding to the possible demise (rather than default) of the United States. There are those who have tried to block various states from passing laws for emergency purposes in the event of the technical demise of the United States. Such obstruction gives the impression that someone wants damage control to come from without rather than allowing the organic states which formed The United States of America (the confederacy) to handle their own damage control.

It is well settled that in the even of a demise of the United States, all power delegated would revert to the People of each state or to the states. Of course, the People never waived their authority in the first place. It is also settled that if a state goes into demise, the reversion is to the People. It is absurd to think that the power would revert to outsiders (unless there is presumption of death, disability or being lost at sea on the part of the sovereigns). That is fundamental law of republic, confederations, confederacies, etc.
