    I'd tend to look at dealing with basic nutritional deficiencies first. Calcium from ground eggshells can help with memory, brain and nervous system function. Calcium deficiency is probably more widespread than many realize. Vitamin C is also helpful to brain function. Adequate fat intake is important too. Well rounded diet and nutritional complements for what's lost or unavailable in industrialized foods first, I'd say. Then more exotic supplements.

    I whole heeartedly agree on all points. Well said, A!

    In addition, melatonin is a very beneficial supplement to take if one is not sleeping during "normal" night time hours, not sleeping in total darkeness (nightlights, computer monitors, light coming in under the door are actually bad) or not getting a full nights sleep.

    I'm currently experimenting with Acetyl L-carnitine for weight loss (and cognitive enhancement).
