Hiroshima In America: the Port Chicago Nuke Test (July 1944)

Approximately years after the United Nations was officially established, a nuclear bomb was tested in the San Francisco, California area on a few hundred "Black" sailors of the U.S. Navy. It is said that when the observer at Hiroshima reported on the effects of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima he said that it had exactly the same area of effect as that of the Port Chicago, California (just east of downtown San Francisco across the bay) bombing which was played down as a munitions explosion. Over 300 are reported to have died and they sought to try 50 for mutiny (the audacity) for not returning to the radioactive site to work.

Turns out that of the 350 or so that died. 200 were "Brown skinned" and the remainder "Fair". Truman became president of the United States on April 12, 1944. The Port Chicago was nuked three months later. Hiroshima was nuked a little over a year later.
