    Now they want passwords?!

I guess they will spend whatever money they need to protect their money. Oxymoron?

I'm sure the "secure" password will only be used during a COMMERCIAL transaction?

Soon... companies won't do business with you unless you have "voluntarily" opted-in to this scheme.

This is only, in my opinion, for those who use Credit- they are the tail and not the head. Otherwise for debit or prepaid cards there should not be a problem.

    Money is Intangible Property.

I can see the Headline news tomorrow: this just in: Hackers exploit some loophole in NSTIC - All Identities have been Stolen.

Anyone who would put their trust in such a stupid idea is well you guessed it STUPID.

I wish I had salvaged that thread about debit cards from SJC!

As it goes now, to do commercial transactions on the Internet you have to have given all the information to your Credit Card company anyway so it looks like a simpler way to do this whole mess to me. I have not figured out though, how if this goes into place, one can function with debit cards and no Information like I do with PayPal now for example. I even buy things at the store by memorizing my debit card numbers.
