Regarding making sodium ascorbate using baking soda + distilled/bottled water + ascorbate powder--avoid using the Emergen-C packets they contain aspartic acid other things. Pure ascorbate acid powder without additives is recommended. Also, I would tend to add to more like 1 teaspoon of ascorbic acid to a little less than half a teaspoon of baking soda. Though I'd have some ascorbic acid left over in the mix , I avoid having extra baking soda lingering in the mix. I intentionally add less than half more like 1/4 to 3/8 baking soda--at least I'd have mostly sodium ascorbate. 1 teaspoon of ascorbic acid powder to 2 oz of distilled water is what the video and many sites recommend. But I've tended to do 4 oz distilled water to 1/2 teaspoon of ascorbic acid + obviously-less-than-half a teaspoon of baking soda and then add some bottled water to that and some juice and drink it diluted (total about 16 oz). That way I can sip it over the course of an hour to help maintain the doses.
