Why Houston Is Forcing Pastors To Turn In Their Sermons

Some Houston pastors are being forced to hand their sermons over to the city -- and they're not happy about the government reading over their shoulders.

Houston has asked five local conservative pastors to turn over sermons about a controversial new city ordinance that bans discrimination against LGBT people. The original subpoenas demanded to see any preaching related to homosexuality and gender identity. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/1...usaolp00000592

Reply: Please state the contractual relationship XYZ Church has with The City of Houston that obligates XYZ Church to produce any information or documents relating to sermons that have occurred at XYZ Church? Otherwise you have no authority to ask for the information demanded. Good day.

Perhaps a 501(c)(3) entity is regarded to be a U.S. person residing in the State of Texas or in the City of Houston. If the entity is registered with the Secretary of State.... Its interesting how they say "this or that is a private entity so we cant make them do this or that" when you want a bank for example to comply with the law, but somehow they are able to make allegedly private 'churches' do things... hmmm.
All rights reserved. Without prejudice. No liability assumed. No value assured.
