    Is Canada a part of the USA?

    It looks like there may be a connection between the two countries that we are unaware of.
    Check out the definitions i found. One from BC Canada and the other from Texas USA.
    Vital Statistics Act (BC)

    "state" means any state or territory of the United States of America and includes the District of Columbia;

    Funny thing is the ACT defines "state" but the word never comes up in the ACT. Weird or what?

    then there is...
    TEX TN. CODE ANN. § 541.002 : Texas Statutes - Section 541.002: GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES

    (5) "State" has the meaning assigned by Section 311.005, Government Code, and includes a province of Canada.
    TEX GV. CODE ANN. § 311.005 : Texas Statutes - Section 311.005: GENERAL DEFINITIONS

    (7) "State," when referring to a part of the United States, includes any state, district, commonwealth, territory, and insular possession of the United States and any area subject to the legislative authority of the United States of America.
