    Meet Joseph aka Imhotep/Inhotep (under Djoser's Reign)

    This is posted in view of the fact that so many these days are spreading the idea of the men or women mentioned in the Bible being imaginary and only symbolic. Even non-religious folks have heard the story of Joseph (ala book of Genesis).

    I started on this kind of research back long, long ago for reasons not here disclosed. However, my original papers and writings were 'conveniently' stolen and/or destroyed. The good news is, others have been at work. Anyways, meet Imhotep which much evidences to be none other than Joseph (son of Israel fka Jacob). Remember Joseph was sold into slavery, his name Joseph would not necessarily 'carried through' the entire process. Furthermore, if he was sold into slavery the story of his parentage might have been altered as well especially if someone took it upon themselves to effectively adopt him and assimilate him into their society.

    And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

    43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

    44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

    45 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

    46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:42-46

    16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

    17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

    18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

    19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.

    20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

    21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

    22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom. Psalms 105:16-22

    There are those who suggest one Yuya of 18th Egyptian Dynasty to have been Joseph and for somewhat plausible reasons but Imhotep matches quite succintly with the Genesis story. Among those who suggest Yuya to be Joseph seem to have a vendetta for shredding Bible historicity. Also, there seems to be a lot of cover-up and intentional misinformation in the field of 'Egyptology'. And there AFAIK has appeared to be consensus that the dating is generally off.

    And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. 20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. Exodus 3:19-20
    Another thing, if you study Genesis there is mention of how Joseph requests that his bones be buried elsewhere. To this day, Egyptologists are puzzled as to where Imhotep is buried. The coffin where Imhotep's remains are supposed to be (located at Sakkara (aka Succoth?) is EMPTY.
