Basically if you have lots and lots of money they might send one of theirs to marry you (to control you), if you refuse they might send minions to rip it all out of your hands (one way or another). If you marry (tricked into it, aloof and naive):
(1) they use the spouse to control you and/or spy on you
(2) this makes gaining control over your assets after your death easier .
If you refuse to marry: they use scandals, burglars, hackers, spies or other felonious means to attempt to gain access to your stuff. All the scandals of sports stars, actors might more often than otherwise be symptoms of first refusals. "You're married?" "Divorce her. If you don't we'll make her divorce you". Systematic confidence games ..same ol' same ol'.
