    No County Coroners In Connecticut?

Isn't it a bit odd that the same CT associated with Newtown and Sandy Hook, has no coroners? Carver was not a county coroner but a "State Medical Examiner". 28 States have a coroner system. The "Medical Examiner" system seems to be a post-Civil War thing.

How coincidental is it that the "Newtown and Sandy Hook" events would occur in a jurisdiction that has neither sherriffs nor coroners?
