Interesting to ponder indeed!!
That is easy to dismiss as a coincidence. For some strange reason your post brings to mind a wooden calf, covered in gold foil long ago. This produced a reaction by the people that caused God to want them destroyed. However Moses cried out on their behalf and God instead monetized sin, demanding that some 10% of the prime crops and livestock be destroyed in blood and other sacrifices.

Interesting observation. I'm tempted to think it may be because the math is easier, but it could be that you are on to something.

Is fractional reserve banking the opposite of the law of tithing?
I find it interesting that there is a 10% reserve for the fractional reserve banking system and that those reserves are artificially leveraged to create 90% more "credit".
I also find it interesting that the law of tithing is a return 10% of increase to the Lord. A true 10% reduction of actual substance and sacrifice.
